Couldn't We? 02:56
There ain’t a hurtin’ song That’ll do you justice You’ve made me reconsider Just what lust is If we had to leave our bodies behind We’d still be lovers in our minds But hey, baby Couldn’t we have a time? I ain’t wearin’ no black ribbon ‘round my arm Cuz the love’s not dead that can still do harm If it hurts it means I’m still alive We got a love that will survive But hey, baby Couldn’t we have a time? I’ve got a new song that I would like to teach you I wrote it in the hope that I, I, I could reach you Oh it ain’t a complicated song I’ll hum a few bars and you can sing along But hey, now baby Couldn’t we have a time? Hey now baby Couldn’t we have a Couldn’t we have a Couldn’t we have a time? © 1992 Patrick Hutchinson, Suzanne Nuttall (SOCAN)

about

Bare Bones' third album was originally released in April 1994. This is the only Bare Bones album that features a guest musician, namely Shelley Coopersmith on the violin! People were often curious about the mysterious woman on the cover. It's a photo Suzanne took of her sister Michelle wearing a towel over her head after taking a shower. Patrick and Suzanne liked the Mona Lisa smile which is... well... elusive! Highlights include "Car Keys," "Tattoo" and "The City Groans (When I'm Alone).

"The lyrics are where this band is at; gritty little ditties about urban love, life, and the stumbling pursuit of both that Nuttall delivers in a mixture of jazz, soul, and good old rock and roll."
HOUR MAGAZINE

"This Montreal duo has a penchant for writing songs that are as lyrically and musically clever as they are entertaining."
